In Greek mythology, apotheosis represents the elevation of a mortal to the status of a god. Icarus, on the other hand, tried to reach the divine by flying toward the sun, ultimately paying the price for getting too close.
For BK’s show at Apoteose in Rio de Janeiro, we took these two stories as a starting point to create a contemporary interpretation of ascension, light, and the desire to reach higher.
From this concept, we transformed Apoteose into a visual universe inspired by the encounter between the human and the divine, bringing the language of Icarus into the city, the stage, and the visual identity of the show.
